On September 20, 2012, Colleen West was named one of six honorees by Girls, Inc. of Long Island and recognized as an industry leader inspiring girls to achieve. The mission of Girls Incorporated® of Long Island is to inspire all girls to be strong, smart and bold. The organization provides school and community based programming that serves the unique needs of girls, ages 6-18, living in Nassau and Suffolk Counties. Through community partnerships, the organization helps girls to achieve their full potential making their future brighter. Girls Incorporated® of Long Island is dedicated to the advocacy of gender equity for all girls in all areas of their lives.
